Alone,
we can do so LITTLE;
Together
we can do
SO MUCH.
On September 6, STG staff joined nearly 400 volunteers to perform a community-wide cleanup in Allison Hill for United Way of the Capital Region's annual Day of Caring.
The service project was led by Wildheart Ministries, a nonprofit organization focused on improving conditions in the Harrisburg neighborhood of Allison Hill under its “Love the Hill" initiative. Volunteers participated in an array of initiatives including picking up litter, weeding, landscaping, and small construction projects.
According to Wildheart Ministries, since 2017, the nonprofit has partnered with over 11,700 volunteers to remove over 2.8 million pounds of trash from 136 blocks of the Allison Hill neighborhood, impacting roughly 2,300+ families. Volunteer efforts have caused a drastic shift in improved environmental conditions, a marked boost in community morale, and a significant decrease in crime and homicide rates.
We recognize the importance of giving back in our local communities and are thankful to support charities where our employees and customers work and live.
Another cornerstone of our community involvement is our support for the Racing for Outreach program in collaboration with the Britton Finkenbinder Memorial. This initiative combines the thrill of racing with the mission of supporting various outreach programs. By participating in and sponsoring racing events, we help raise funds and awareness for crucial community services, including educational programs and mental health initiatives. Racing for Outreach is not just a charitable activity but a dynamic way to engage our employees and the broader community in meaningful support efforts.
