Summit Technology Group (STG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Don Spidell as a Cloud Architect Lead. Don joins STG with 17 years of technical and cloud architecture leadership across industries, most recently from Bucknell University where he served as Director of Technology Architecture and Operations. Don’s technical and leadership depth will be directed at helping Summit continue to grow and mature its enterprise cloud practice. At Bucknell, Don was a strategist for architecture, planning, oversight, and maintenance of the University data center, telecommunications, and networking infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks as well as a continuing focus on cloud first when deploying new technologies.

“Don’s energy, technical acumen, hands-on experience deploying cloud technologies, and track record of success will be key to supporting our growing client base,” said Ben Wallace, Managing Partner, Summit. “We have numerous strategic efforts aligned for the year ahead, and Don will help us deliver on those commitments.”

Prior to joining Bucknell in November 2016, Don worked for a digital publishing firm in Lancaster, PA where he served as an “Uptime Preservationist” and was responsible for moving the company’s operations fully to AWS.

Don holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with a Minor in Business Information Systems from Messiah College. He is a graduate of the EDUCAUSE Management Institute. He also holds various professional certifications including AWS Solutions Architect, ITIL, and CCNA.
